Nations Trust Bank recently made a significant monetary contribution towards supporting the children affected by the Easter Sunday attacks to pursue their education. A discussion was held with Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith recently at the Archbishop’s house in Colombo to review how the bank’s support could reach the most deserving children.

Recognising the importance of both immediate support as well as funds for their education in the long-term, Nations Trust Bank’s contribution was made in the form of funded Nations Kidz savings accounts and vouchers for school shoes for the children. The savings passbooks were officially handed over by Nations Trust Bank DCEO Priyantha Talwatte whilst the school shoe vouchers were handed over by the bank’s Head of CSR Theja Silva. Gayan Ranaweera, President of Sports and Welfare Club, and Corporate Banking and Retail Banking teams from Nations Trust Bank were also present.

In addition to the funds allocated from the bank, Sports and Welfare Club and personal donations from employees of Nations Trust Bank were also received to make this contribution possible.
