Sri Lanka Food Processors Association donates Rs. 1.1 m worth of PMUs to National Hospital

Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA) initiated a program to donate five Multi Para Monitors or Patient Monitoring Units (PMU) which help to monitor the respiratory rate, heart rate, pulse rate, ECG, Systolic and Diastolic pressure, and other critical factors of COVID-19 patients. 

SLFPA came forward with this project to appreciate the frontline medical personnel and to help in their efforts to fight against COVID-19. The handing over ceremony took place at the National Hospital recently with the participation of SLFPA President Nishan Perera, Vice President/CSR Project Chairman Damitha Perera, General Secretary Aruna Senanayake, Treasurer Nadeeshan Guruge and SLFPA past President Dhammika Gunasekera. Deputy Director General Health Services Dr. Kumar Wickremasinghe accepted the machines on behalf of the National Hospital. The total value of the machines is over Rs. 1.1 million. 

CMC Engineering Export GmbH, Westmann Engineering Co. Ltd. and EOAS Organics Ltd. contributed a unit each, while Country Style Foods Ltd. (SMAK), Forbs & Walker Commodity Brokers Ltd., Trans Continental Packaging & Commodities Ltd., Control Union inspections Ltd., Rohan Rodrigo Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Ltd. and Finagle Lanka Ltd. contributed as part sponsors.  

SLFPA hopes to hand over a second batch of machines in due course.
