Vidullanka PLC, a forerunner in the nation’s renewable energy spectrum has taken a further step in contributing towards social wellbeing by donating 36 laptops to students in grade 4 and above, to have a fine online learning experience. This initiative was carried under one of its key CSR umbrellas, ‘Vidu Saviya – Daruwanta Diriyak’.
This worthy initiative was directed toward the benefit of children of its nation-wide staff members, and accordingly, the laptops were gifted to the students to successfully continue their education. The key highlight being the laptops were gifted to children with very limited access to technology and facing challenges in fitting into the new norm of “online learning” which has so far been adopted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vidullanka PLC continues its flagship ViduSaviya CSR initiative with a highlighted emphasis on assisting the local populace of the project areas and in the wellbeing of its own employees. In addition to the Daruwanta Diriyak initiative focused on assisting the top-performing students in reaching greater heights both in academic and sports arenas, several other initiatives are also in progress, namely: ViduSaviya – Gamata Eliyak, ViduSaviya – Ratata Sevanak and ViduSaviya – Lowata Aruthak focused on local social and infrastructure development, reforestation and promoting innovation respectively.
The laptops were ceremonially handed over to the recipients at respective power plants recently adhering to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
