Access Engineering renovates Welisara Chest Hospital

The leading infrastructure development solutions provider in Sri Lanka Access Engineering, recently completed renovating and distributing essential items to patients and the staff members of Ward 2 of Welisara Chest Hospital, as part of the company’s ongoing social responsibility initiative, ‘More than bricks and steel’.

The Welisara Chest Hospital is the only functioning Chest Hospital in Sri Lanka that caters to patients across the island and is renowned for its expertise and quality of service throughout the years.

Access Engineering took the initiative to renovate ward 2 of the hospital with the view to provide better facilities to patients, staff as well as visitors and the people of the area.

The refurbished ward was declared open on 11 December 2012, by Access Engineering Executive Director Christopher Joshua, together with Welisara Chest Hospital Consultant Physician Dr. W.V. Senaratne.

Chief operating Officer Rohana Fernando and Access Engineering Business Development Director Dharshana Munesinghe were also present at this occasion.

Joshua addressed those who were present at the opening ceremony, which included doctors, nurses and staff, said that Access Engineering was pleased to help in the renovation of the ward so that better services can be offered to patients and people who visit the hospital from many parts of the country.

He also added that Access Engineering has assisted in the renovation of the Welisara Chest Hospital in the past as well as many other hospitals including the Maharagama Cancer Hospital and the Maharagama Dental hospital.

“Access Engineering has helped our hospital for a long time now and we are grateful for all their support.

“Our aim is to ensure that the standards of our hospital is high and showcase it as an example to other hospitals even though we have to face many challenges.” said Welisara Chest Hospital Consultant Physician Bandu Gunasena.
