For the fourth consecutive year, the AIA Insurance ‘Poson Vandana’ special train provided a free shuttle service for thousands of pilgrims visiting Anuradhapura. This special train service operated between Anuradhapura and Mihinthale on 22, 23 and 24 June, providing free transportation facilities to the devotees. This is the 20th consecutive year that AIA conducted the Poson safety campaign. Apart from facilitating the presence of around 600 lifeguards from the Sri Lanka Police, the Navy and the Life Saving Association of Sri Lanka, the company also conducted an extensive safety awareness campaign in the area this year as well. “As part of the AIA Poson Safety Program, we have over the past four years provided the ‘Poson Vandana’ free shuttle service to pilgrims who flock to the sacred city, enabling them to travel between Anuradhapura and Mihinthale in comfort and safety,” commented Amal Perera, Company Spokesperson of AIA Insurance.
