Amãna Takaful Cares conducts leadership camp for Vajira Sri Children’s Development Centre

Amãna Takaful, recently awarded ‘Best Islamic Finance Service Provider for 2013’ by IFM (International Finance Magazine), conducted a leadership and personality development camp for children at the Vajira Sri Children’s Development Centre under its CSR program ‘Amãna Takaful Cares’. The centre cares for over 140 children aged between 5 and 20 years, most of whom are victims of the three decade long conflict and the tsunami.
“Amãna Takaful is indeed pleased to have been given the opportunity to work with the centre that has successfully groomed and contributed fine men and women to society in the 29 years of its existence. It was truly fulfilling to see the diversity in culture – children belonging to various ethnic groups learning, playing and growing up together in a free and safe environment,” said Captain (Retd.) Sumedha Mirihana, Manager – Marketing Activations of Amãna Takaful.
“Amãna Takaful is happy that it is able to make a contribution with the development camp that helps develop personality and leadership traits of these children which will help them in the future and also benefit society at large.”
The leadership camp ended with an evening of fellowship and entertainment meant to help the children relax and showcase their talent. The Chief Guest of the event was Jong Moon Choi, the Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka. The ambassador gave away certificates to the participants at the invitation of Dr. Ven. Hunupolagama Vajira Sri Thero who is the Director of Vajira Sri Children’s Development Centre, along with many other foreign delegates, journalists, social workers and the staff of Amãna Takaful.
