As part of its efforts to increase the awareness and importance of bone health amongst women, Anlene has partnered with cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara and his wife, Yehali, to drive the ‘Anlene Asthi Shakthi Kantha Shakthi’ movement.

Highlighting the importance of good bone health, through a balanced diet and regular exercise, the movement will reach out to different parts of the country by conducting activity camps and building ‘mobility paths’.  The activities will start this November and will continue until next year.

The movement will host a series of activity camps across the region to encourage women to understand more about the importance of bone health and its relevance to leading a strong, active and enjoyable life. Participants will ‘Know their Bones’ - how to care for them better through the incorporation of balanced nutrition and regular exercise into daily routine.

There will also be activities and games that the whole family will enjoy that will bring out the importance of bones.

The activities will focus on staying active, supple and strong – once again communicating how bone health and enjoying life go hand in hand. The first activity camp will commence on 27 November at Colombo’s Galle Face Green.

A number of ‘Mobility Paths’ will also be created as part of the Anlene Asthi Shakthi Kantha Shakthi movement. These paths will be available for the public to walk and jog along, engaging in physical exercise to ‘Take care of their Bones.’

Fonterra Brands Lanka Managing Director Achyut Reddy says, “The Anlene Asthi Shakthi Kantha Shakthi movement is our way of inspiring women to make a long term commitment to their bone health.

We have joined with Kumar and Yehali Sangakarra as advocates for this cause as they are prime examples of good living and an active lifestyle. We hope this will encourage more people to lead more active lifestyles, supported with the right nutrition.”

The combined role of balanced nutrition with calcium-rich foods like Anlene and an active lifestyle with exercise is necessary to maintain healthier bones – with 10,000 daily steps as a recommended goal for daily exercise.
