In view of the recent drought faced by people of many districts in the country, CL Synergy Ltd auctioned a project to supply drinking water to the severely drought effected people in Polonnaruwa and Medirigirya on Sunday 10 August 2014. CL Synergy Ltd made arrangements to supply a package of drinking water bottles to over 1,500 families living in the areas of Dharshanapura, Wedikachchiya, 98 Atamba Oya, Yaya Hatha, Jayathugama, Pubudugama and Halmillawawe. Whilst in conversation with these ill-fated residents, a majority of whom are paddy farmers, they said that they have lost all their crops and with it their livelihood, and as a result at present they find it rather impossible even to meet with their day to day meals. There is a huge shortage of equipment to store the limited amount of water that is been distributed. CL Synergy representatives headed by Indika Aruna Kumara made it aware to these people the intention of the project and mentioned to them that they would not stop by only supplying drinking water, rather pursue and look at other areas possible to be of assistance. This project was pioneered by CL Synergy Ltd Managing Director Roshan Silva and the board of directors with the contribution of all the staff members; the ground-work and the distribution was led by AGM – Finance Indika Aruna Kumara, Business Development Manager Indika Samarawickrama, Assistant Manager Finance Dumida Krishantha and Assistant Manager Nuwanthi Upeksha. Clearing out the eight months long drought they received a welcome shower on 17 September 2014.
