Bank of Ceylon partners with National Hospital Colombo to improve hospital environs

The National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo (NHSL) serves over 10,000 outpatients daily and accommodates 3,500 resident patients. The management of the NHSL aims to upgrade its standard and improve the surrounding environment to become the best government hospital in South Asia. Bank of Ceylon is partnering with NHSL by becoming a stakeholder in this worthy project by assisting in creating a pleasant environment. It is a known fact that a peaceful, green environment psychologically assists patients to relax and recover quickly. Therefore in line with NHSL’s mission of becoming the best government hospital in South Asia it is an important element on the agenda and Bank of Ceylon is privileged to partner with NHSL in this task.                   A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the bank and NHSL officials recently. The bank’s Chief Marketing Officer Dr. Indunil Liyanage and Assistant General Manager Marketing W.M.S. Wanasinghe signed on behalf of Bank of Ceylon and NHSL Director Dr. Anil Jasinghe signed on behalf of the National Hospital. BOC Chief Manager Marketing D.N. De Zoysa, Manager G.H. Jayasinghe, National Hospital Official Dr. H.M.K. Wickramanayake and K.D.A. Nishantha were also present at the occasion. Bankers to the nation, Bank of Ceylon has been a partner to NHSL for over decades as it has been catering to doctors, NHSL staff and patients with its Regent Street Branch and 24 hour ATM at NHSL. The bank believes that this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project will enhance the quality of the hospital premises and create a healthy environment for the patients and staff.
