The festive spirit of the Avurudu season helps to bring people closer and Hemas Manufacturing Ltd., makers of Clogard Fresh Blast Gel, used the season’s celebration to bring the people in the North and South closer in a truly fresh and novel endeavour that cut through the geographical distance and the ethnic differences.
Clogard Fresh Blast Gel opened communications during the season between the youth in the North and South. One location of the communication booth was the Cargills Tower in Jaffna and in the South it was the Manjary Store in Galle. The booths enabled participants to engage in video conferencing with those in the other booth located right across the country.
It was an amazing opportunity for the youth in the North to connect with their counterparts in the South. In Jaffna they wished the southerners in Tamil while from Galle the participants wished their newfound Tamil friends in Sinhala. Clogard even arranged for them to digitally exchange festive sweetmeats without which the season is not complete. Finally, as everyone walked away with gifts and lasting memories, the northerners and southerners were able to enter into fresh relationships with delighted smiles.
The unique activation aptly called ‘Fresh Naa-kam’ made Clogard Fresh Blast consumers realise that the aspirations, feelings, needs and interests they shared were very similar in spite of the distance and language differences. Many were inspired to travel the distance and visit each other one day soon.
“After chatting with them and exchanging greetings, we soon realised that our new friends in Jaffna are very similar to us and we can now make a conscious effort to get to know them better and become true friends,” said Sureshi Jayawardene from Galle. “It’s really farsighted and innovative of Clogard to give us this opportunity to engage with people across the country.”
“Although we belong to different cultures our New Year traditions are similar,” observed Madhan Kumarasingham from Jaffna in surprise.
Clogard Fresh Blast Gel is manufactured with a blend of natural ingredients using opta zinc technology to fight germs providing last-lasting fresh breath that brings confidence, especially to young people, when they have to interact closely with others.
Hemas Manufacturing Marketing Manager Fiona Juriansz Munasinghe commented, “We are very proud and pleased to have successfully integrated the two communities across the country in a very novel activation that goes hand in hand with our Clogard Fresh Blast Gel brand’s proposition on long lasting fresh breath that enables the youth to communicate with others with confidence. Most importantly, we have contributed to meaningful reconciliation among the two communities during the festive season celebrated by both the Sinhalese and Tamil people. “
