Being mindful of the increasing number of motor vehicle accidents, the Ceylon Motor Traders’ Association (CMTA) in association with the City Traffic Police conducted a first in a series of lectures on awareness of ‘Traffic Management and Road Safety’ for its members.

The lecture was delivered by ASP Dhananjaya of the City Traffic Police under the supervision of SSP K. Arasaratnam, Director Traffic Head Quarters. ASP Dhananjaya emphasised on safe driving, alertness and prevention of motor traffic accidents.

He also highlighted the role played by other users of the roads such as pedestrians and the importance of them adhering to road rules. It was noted that motorists should frequently update themselves on road traffic safety rules.

CMTA was represented by Yasantha Abeykoone, the Vice Chairman of the CMTA and Rohan Casiechetty, from the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce who was instrumental in facilitating this workshop.

CMTA is an affiliated Trade Association of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The membership of the CMTA comprises almost all the franchise holders of the leading motor vehicle brands in Sri Lanka.
