Commercial Bank donates landmark 50th IT lab to President’s College

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon’s flagship CSR initiative reached a milestone this week with the donation of the Bank’s 50th fully-equipped and furnished IT Lab to President’s College, Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte. Commercial Bank Managing Director Ravi Dias presided at the formal presentation of the Lab, to the school authorities.

The fully fledged IT lab comprised of computers with certified software, accessories and furniture.

The new IT Lab will benefit 2,000 students enrolled in the Junior School of President’s College, Kotte.

In all, more than 20,000 students in schools around Sri Lanka have been provided access to IT education to date, as a result of the 50 IT Labs donated by Commercial Bank.

All these schools receive assistance from the Bank to maintain and upgrade their computer labs when necessary to ensure that the facilities benefit many batches of students, the Bank said.

These donations are funded by Commercial Bank’s CSR Trust which assists the Bank to identify national priorities and deliver a structured response to the needs of the community.
