Dengue prevention Shramadana

The Department of Government Information joined the dengue eradication shramadana conducted by the Kirulapona Police Station yesterday.

As part of its community welfare project, Sri Lanka Police have commenced a dengue prevention programme throughout the island to encourage people to maintain a mosquito free environment in their neighbourhoods.

The Kirulapona Police launched a shramadana campaign today to clean the premises of the Government Information Department and its environs. The staff of Government Information Department and Kirulapona Police joined hands with volunteers in support of the fight against the deadly epidemic.

On the advice of Prof. Ariyarathne Athugala, Director General of Government Information Department and Sub Inspector Dissanayake of Kirulapona Police Station it is proposed to implement this programme weekly.
