To bear a child is the most sacred act a woman can perform in her life and a female carrying her child in her womb is treated with utmost respect and care by society. It is important that a mother should be well nourished and be mentally at ease at all times and especially during her pregnancy.

That is the very reason why Deshamanya Dipika Damayanthi proprietress of Dipika Resort Mirissa and founder of the Dipika Damayanthi Foundation performed a most meritorious act by helping pregnant mothers of Aparekka to attain peace of mind by listening to a dhamma sermon and chanting of stanzas by the sangha and presented them with a gift pack containing nutrients and utensils.

The program held at the family health clinic in Aparekka, was attended by more than 60 pregnant mothers.
