Drought relief from Hemas

Diversified conglomerate, Hemas Holding PLC came forward to support the families in the Polonnaruwa district who were affected by the drought recently. Hemas joined hands with the Disaster Management Centre of the Polonnaruwa district to provide relief to the villagers of Thamankaduwa, Dimbulagala, Hingurakgoda, Lankapura, Rathmalthenna and Elahera divisions. Sector representatives of the Hemas Group and Shiromi Masakorala, Head of Group Sustainability and Corporate Communications of Hemas Holdings PLC handed over the collective contribution (from the company and the Hemas staff) of 100 numbers of 1000-litre water tanks to Pabasheeli Jayalath, the Additional Secretary of the District Secretariat, Polonnaruwa. Company representatives also visited the villages and distributed water tanks among the communities to provide relief in the worst affected areas.
