Fashion Bug uplifts Ragama Hospital

Fashion Bug, one of Sri Lanka’s leading retail clothing stores with over 16 outlets island-wide, in its series of various CSR activities recently installed direction boards at Ragama Hospital adding ease and convenience to the public.

This is the second social project which Fashion Bug carried out at the Ragama Hospital where previously it refurbished the maternity ward at its teaching unit. “As a corporate responsible citizen, we take pride in giving back to the society. We have initiated many projects that go beyond public services to sports, health and education,” said Fashion Bug Deputy General Manager Dr. S.H.M. Faraaz. Further he added that health is the most important aspect in any society and economy, and both the public and private sector need to take active participation to promote the wellbeing of the general public.

Fashion Bug is no stranger to similar initiatives across the country. From its drinking water project at the Ovitigamuwa Maha Vidyala and donation of a computer lab to Thumbe Kanishta Vidyalaya through to the sponsorship of the Dhammikka Kithulgoda scholarship foundation, and various CSR activities at Maharagama Cancer Hospital, Lady Ridgeway, Colombo Eye Hospital also including many environmental projects, the company takes different approaches to tackling many social issues faced by the community at large.

Sisu Dirimaga, an award winning CSR program by Fashion Bug, has successfully benefitted 20 schools and over 7,000 students as of today, and continues all the way till it achieves its goal of spreading amongst 120 schools and over 100,000 students across the country. “We are conducting these programs in over 120 schools island wide, and over 100,000 students will benefit as a result,” said Fashion Bug Director and Sisu Dirimaga program Founder Shabier Subian.

“It is our aim to establish a sustainable CSR platform as opposed to miscellaneous one-off projects that lack clear, long term objectives. The Sisu Dirimaga program will ensure that all projects stem from one clear platform, establishing a clear CSR identity for Fashion Bug as a responsible corporate citizen, as well as give our customers the satisfaction of being part of a noble national cause,” he further stated.

Fashion Bug commenced its operations since 1994 as a partnership business with four partners and a staff population of just 15, and today it possesses over 16 stores throughout the country with a workforce of over 1,250 employees, and stands among the leading clothing stores in Sri Lanka catering with the fashion motto of ‘Changing life Styles’.
