Flora sponsors Run For Their Lives health run

As a healthy spread committed towards generating awareness about the importance of healthy living, Flora was recently associated with the ‘Run For Their Lives’ (RFTL) as the Gold Sponsor. Organised by the Rotaract club of Colombo Uptown, RFTL was held with an extensive participation at the Police Park Grounds recently. Consisting of an evening run, the event celebrated five successful years with over 3,000 people taking part. It has been established as a much looked forward to fixture on Colombo’s fitness events calendar. “Flora maintains a consistent commitment towards encouraging Sri Lankans to develop a healthy and active lifestyle,” says Unilever Sri Lanka Category Head Foods Shamara de Silva. “Partnering an event such as this which encourages building a healthy and an active lifestyle is important for Flora to convey a message of building healthy and physical active lives.” At the venue, there were free BMI (Body Mass Index) health checks, sampling, interactive digital unit explaining what good fats and bad fats are, for participants courtesy Flora. “We believe that a clear focus on developing a healthy lifestyle which includes eating healthily and being physically active will empower everyone,” adds Flora Brand Manager Bianca de Silva. The route of the run was from Police Park to Nelum Pokuna, Independence Square, Royal College, Havelock Road and back to Police Park. The RFTL will raise funds for the replacement of much needed medical equipment at the National Cancer Institute Maharagama. Flora has been involved with many activities that encourage living healthy and physically active lives. Flora recently sponsored the cycle booth at the newly opened Werasganga Walking Track at Bellanwila. The brand has been active in sustaining a clear focus on managing a healthy eating plan and staying active through regular exercise.
