Hassan Shazuli excels at MICH Meeld un Nabi Oratorical Contest

Hassan Shazuli, a Year 9 student at Zahira College, Colombo, who won the 1st place in the Oratorical Contest (junior category for boys in English) received his award from Abdulhamid A.K. Al Mulla, Ambassador of the UAE in Sri Lanka, who was the Chief Guest at the 60th Meelad un Nabi celebrations 2013 of the Moors’ Islamic Cultural Home (Inc).

The celebrations were held on 9 February 2013 at the A.A.M. Marleen Hall, Her Highness Sheikha Fathima Building at 7, Lily Avenue, Wellawatte, Colombo 6.

The guest speaker was Sheikh Imadudeen Abu Hijleh, Founder Al Razi Institute, USA. Al Haj Omar Kamil, President of MICH, presided at this function and A.J.M. Muzammil and other distinguished invitees graced the above awards ceremony.

Fathima Muslim Ladies College, Methodist College, Amal International School, Jeelan Central College, St. Paul’s Girls’ School, Milagiriya, Muslim Ladies College, Bambalapitiya, Mattakkuliya Ahadiya School and Kolonnawa Ahadiya School were some of the schools that participated in the MICH Meelad un Nabi competitions.
