HDFC celebrates Habitat Day 2013

HDFC Bank in collaboration with UN Habitat – Colombo office organised a walk from the bank’s head office to Galle Face Green to commemorate World Habitat Day 2013. The objective of this event was to highlight this year’s Habitat day theme ‘Urban Mobility’. A booklet was distributed among the public to make them aware about sustainable housing and living to mitigate negative impacts on environment caused by house construction. The first copy of this booklet was presented to the Chairperson of the bank Siromi Wickramasinghe by the Chief Manager (Business Development and Marketing) H.S. Gunathilake.

This is also contributed to the bank’s framework to promote sustainable housing and living and to be actively involved in the Government’s effort of achieving Millennium Development Goals on Environmental Sustainability. HDFC Bank Chairperson Siromi Wickramasinghe, CEO/GM Nimal Mamaduwa, Chief Operating Officer S. Dissanayaka, Chief Financial Officer D.V. Pathirana, members of the staff and officers of the UN Habitat office in Colombo also participated in this walk.
