HDFC holds World Habitat Day awareness walk

In commemoration of the World Habitat Day which fell on 3 October 2011, HDFC organised an awareness walk from its head office in Fort to the Galle Face Green.

As the World Habitat Day this year was celebrated upon the theme ‘Cities and Climate Change,’ the awareness walk held by the HDFC urged the public and all concerned citizens of the importance of carbon footprints and the changes in the climate due to various manmade and natural causes.

Leaflets were distributed among the public to create awareness of such matters. The first leaflet was presented to HDFC Chairperson Siromi Wickramasinghe by AGM – Business Development and Marketing D.V. Pathirana.

Acting General Manager S. Dissanayake, AGM – IT W.M.A. Bandara, CIA A.J. Athukorala, Head of Credit S.A. Alahakoon, Head of HR L. Edirisinghe, employees of the HDFC and students of Colombo Grammar School in Battaramulla also participated in this event.
