Jaffna Security Forces donates Rs. 2 million towards Ranaviru Dudaru Scholarship fund

Jaffna Security Forces Commander Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 million, towards the ‘Ranaviru Dudaru Scholarship Fund’. Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Ioma Rajapaksa received the donation at a function held at the ministry premises recently. The officers and other ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters in Jaffna, had contributed towards this worthy cause. A similar donation was made by the SFHQ-J in 2012 as well.



The ‘Ranaviru Dudaru’ scholarship fund is a project initiated to provide financial support for the education of needy children of deceased and disabled personnel of Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and the Civil Defence Force. The project aims at ensuring a better future for the children whose parents had made great sacrifices for the nation. Officials of the MoD SVU were also present at the occasion.
