Kekulu Island Wide Art Competition Award Ceremony 2014

The Kekulu Island Wide Art Competition Award Ceremony was held recently under the patronage of Siddhalepa Group Chairman Deshabandu Dr. Victor Hettigoda at the J.R. Jayewardene Centre Colombo. The Chief Guest of the occasion was veteran artist Sibil Weththasinghe. Every year Siddhalepa company’s Kekulu brand organises this art competition in each district of the country with the aim of enhancing the creativity and artistic talents of pre-school children. There were 6,935 kindergartens of which 190,101 children participated for the art competition. All participants received a certificate and winners of each province were awarded with valuable prizes at the award ceremonies held in provincial level. The final 100 students received their certificates and gifts on 31 January in the presence of a large crowd attending from various places of the country. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners and their pre-schools are: 1st Place – H.K. Kavinu Kalmira – Carlton Pre-School 2nd Place – G.W.L. Omanja Hansana Silva – Siddhartha Pre-School 3rd Place – V.A.
