Financial trailblazer LB Finance turned its 40th anniversary into a heartfelt statement that reflects its commitment to society by initiating many social projects of contrasting yet equally beneficial to the country.

A massive blood donation campaign and a tree planting project were carried out as two of the many cornerstones of the 40th anniversary celebrations. Held last week at the company’s headquarters in Colombo, the blood donation campaign saw a spontaneous response as more than 200 individuals donated blood.

The tree planting project was held throughout the island, centred on the company’s countrywide branch network. Customers and friends were invited to join employees as 1600 trees were planted, 40 trees being planted by 40 branches, adding further significance to the anniversary.

“It’s a heartfelt symbol of goodwill and care. One directly saves lives and the other will help to sustain life in the future,” said Sumith Adhihetty, Managing Director of LB Finance, who believes that the company took a decision to abstain from the usually expected celebrations associated with such a milestone and instead to celebrate by impacting lives in a positive and responsible manner.

This, he says, reflects the company’s 40-year tradition of responsible financial stewardship and its role towards society.

The prominent financial giant has seen immense growth over the last year and is gearing to keep that growth going at a tremendous rate. “At 40, LB Finance is a leading light of not just the finance industry but in the quest of taking the country forward in the post-war era. We are continuing to grow at tremendous velocity but we have endeavoured to conduct ourselves with responsibility,” elaborated Adhihetty.

LB Finance operates through a highly-integrated network of branches offering cutting-edge solutions through services such as leasing, fixed deposits, hire purchase, microfinance, inland money transfer, Islamic finance, factoring, gold loans and other credit facilities.
