Unilever, the premier FMCG company in Sri Lanka, with its flagship germ-fighter brand Lifebuoy is conducting activation camps in Kandy, Kurunegala and Thissamaharamaya, giving those living in the area an invaluable opportunity of getting themselves informed about germs and germ protection.
The campaign will commence with the camp which is to be held at Sri Rahula College premises in Kandy on 20 May.
Many activities are planned for the day to educate general public including children and parents about germs in a more interactive and interesting way using games, stage shows and educational programs etc. Those who win will stand a chance for gifts too.
As a prelude, you will see Lifebuoy branded trucks and vans in the town nearing the event, talking to you and to others and distributing leaflets about the event.
They will brief you about the content of the program and the importance of good health and hygienic practices, such as using of soap during the key user occasions of having a bath everyday, washing hands before any meal and washing hands after going to the toilet.
Commenting on the program Lifebuoy Senior Brand Manager Saumya Perera said, “Germs are around us all the time. Washing hands without soap will not help in getting rid of germs. Lifebuoy protects you from germs causing 10 common diseases. Children are especially prone to germinal attacks since they are more active in outdoor activities.”
Lifebuoy, as the leading germ-fighter brand, has being there for generations providing affordable and accessible hygienic solutions to Sri Lankan consumers to lead a life free from hygiene related worries.
As a socially responsible brand, Lifebuoy also worked towards a broader mission beyond business targets in building a healthy society free from illnesses.
In this context, Lifebuoy celebrates global hand wash day in Sri Lanka every year since year 2008, by promoting hand washing habits among children.
Making a forward march on same lines, Unilever with Lifebuoy invite all in and around to be present on the occasion to share the excitement and help make their worthy course of creating a “healthy society free from illnesses” a reality.
