MAS Holdings partners Health Ministry to support Maharagama Cancer Hospital

MAS Holdings announced this week it is partnering with the Ministry of Health to support the National Cancer Hospital Maharagama, in providing equipment for diagnostics, ICU and ward facilities for outpatients and their care givers.

MAS Holdings at its 20th year celebrations, committed to provide facilities to the health sector to the tune of Rs. 100 million.

“We are proud to say that we have fulfilled our commitment and provided excellent facilities at the hospital. This includes urgently required equipment at the OPD and Diagnostic departments to the value of Rs. 46 million,” a spokesman for MAS Holdings said.

Equipment included ultrasound scanner, laparoscopy system, endoscopy system, flame photometer, motorised microtome, x-ray processor, freezer and elisa reader and washer. MAS is also partnering with ‘Colours of Courage’ to provide equipment to the hospital to the value of Rs. 34 million to expand the Medical ICU and Surgical ICU units. Support includes ICU beds, therapeutic ventilors, portable ventilors, multipara monitor, patient warmer, syringe pumps and portable ultrasound scanner. One of the urgent needs was a transit home at the Cancer Hospital for outpatients. In this regard MAS has partnered with The CCC Foundation on their Phase 2 project.

MAS recently contributed Rs. 25 million to the Ministry of Health in favor of The CCC Foundation which is building a transit home for patients and care givers at the National Cancer Hospital, Maharagama. “MAS will continue to work with the Health Sectors in improving the lives of the people in our communities,” the spokesman added.
