NOLIMIT refurbishes Ahangama Dombagoda Maha Vidyalala primary school

NOLIMIT recently refurbished the Primary Section of the Dombagoda Maha Vidyalaya, in Thiththaagalle, Ahangama which was in need of assistance to provide the many children of the area with the facilities for a proper education.
A well deserving school which educates over 300 children from Grade 1 to Grade 5 received a new primary section recently in the presence of the Additional Director - Education for the Southern Province Senerat Korale, Sectional Director for Education in Habaraduwa J. Uyangoda, Galle Division Deputy Education Director and Administration U.K.D. Manoj Padmala, the Management of NOLIMIT and the senior staff members of the school.
Refurbishments comprised of renovating the floors, repainting, installation of large windows and grills for adequate ventilation along with the modern class rooms environmental facilities for primary section.
As the school follows the 5S system, NOLIMIT as a responsible corporate has introduced colour co-ordinated work stations for the kids for arts and crafts, a small stage which could be used for recognition of the kids by teachers, a tiled ledge for lunch boxes and bags were among the additional structures NOLIMIT contributed towards these kids.
Speaking at the event, Upali Senanayake, Principal of the Dombagaha Vidyalaya said: “I’m extremely grateful to NOLIMIT for the contribution they have made towards the school. Reconstruction of a building took place after nine long years and we at Dombagaha Vidyalaya have been waiting for funding in order to offer better educational facilities for our children as well as improved teaching facilities to our staff. Our children have been introduced to the well known 5S system and NOLIMIT as a JASTECA award winning organisation for many years contributed their know-how in numerous ways to reconstruct these buildings which now creates a better ambiance as well as a child friendly environment.”
NOLIMIT General Manager Amjad Hassan said: “At NOLIMIT we have constantly looked at ways to assist and develop the community in which we live and have identified the Dombagoda Maha Vidyalala as one of the needy. In particular the primary school was in desperate need of a facelift and we are happy and proud that were able to contribute towards this cause. Going forward we will continue to identify those in need and look to aid them in any way possible as a responsible corporate entity.”
The children of this school were affected by the tsunami back in 2004 until the current Principal Upali Senanayake took over and transferred all kids to an inland school in Ahangama which is where the school is currently located.
