People’s Merchant Bank helps construct Chaitya to mark 2600 Buddha Jayanthi

Under its CSR programmes, People’s Merchant Bank PLC (PMB), has previously been fully involved in meeting its obligations towards the nation and the community by undertaking various projects.

In keeping with its commitment and also to coincide with 2600 Buddha Jayanthi, PMB has decided to donate Rs.100,000/- to construct the chaitya of the Sri Bodhirukkaramaya Temple of Batuwana, Niyadurupola located in the Kegalle district to benefit all worshippers and also to educate the younger generation of the importance of safeguarding the country’s heritage. The Bank has focused and channeled its efforts through our branch network as being the best presence on the ground to address chosen issues. This donation took place at the Sri Bodhirukkarama Temple on 19th January, 2011 Poya Day. Here Managing Director/CEO of People’s Merchant Bank Anura Wickremasinghe presenting the cheque for Rs.100,000/-  to the Chief Incumbent of the Temple, Ven. Anuradhapura Dhammissara Thero while the Manager of Kurunegala Branch, P. Mayadunne and Manager, Kurunegala Branch, Nalin Rajakaruna look on.
