People’s Leasing celebrates World Environmental Day 2013 in style

Marking the Environmental Day on 5 June 2013, PLC hosted five plant distribution program under the theme ‘Plant trees and protect the environment’ at five branches of PLC including Colombo (City/Metropolitan), Galle, Jaffna, Ampara and Bandarawela representing the Western, Southern, Northern, Eastern and Uva Provinces.

Main event was held in City/Metropolitan branch of Colombo with the participation of corporate management including Gamini Sarath – DGM – Marketing and Business Development, Nimal Perera – Chief Operating Officer, People’s Insurance Ltd., Andy Ratnayake – Senior Manager, Risk Management and Control, Nandana Weerakkody – Manager – Metropolitan branch, Sisira Gamage – Head of City branch and PLC staff.

PLC Metropolitan branch distributed 100 plant saplings among customers and awareness was created on protecting environment and waste management while nutritious ‘kola kanda’ was served as refreshments.

In parallel, other branches also hosted similar events at branch premises and invitees from People’s Bank and students from neighbouring schools coloured regional events.
