Prime Grameen is focused on their grand theme of ‘Bringing light into the world of others.’ The principle of serving fellow citizens of our motherland was manifested once again through the patronage provided to a national program originated by the Sri Lanka Police to educate the children, teachers and parents of schools to be aware of various negative influences that may affect them.

The sponsorship provided by Prime Grameen ‘Yaalu’ ensured that the status of the scheme to be a true friend of the children was epitomised through this endeavour to create a secure and a bright future for the children.

Active participation in the program introduced by the Sri Lanka Police to counter issues faced by school children such as child labour, child abuse, addiction and trafficking of drugs, smoking and consumption of liquor and other illegal activities which was inaugurated at the Nugegoda St. John’s College Auditorium on 16 October 2012.

It is expected that, through the positive feedback of the children who could create a conduit to report such matters utilising the complaint boxes, would minimise the incidence of the negative influences affecting the school children. The Prime Grameen sponsorship ensured that twenty schools within the Mirihana Police Division were provided with complaint boxes.

Headquarters Inspector of the Mirihana Police Roshan Rajapakse, addressing the gathering of invitees and school children informed that from 16 October. October onwards, any child who is tormented either mentally or physically by anyone could seek relief by informing the police through the complaint box program.

He was positive that the police could ensure the safety of the affected children and provide speedy solutions. The program was made colourful by the performances of the students of St. John’s College, Nugegoda.
