Rotabats recognises public servants

The Rotary Club of Battaramulla popularly known as Rotabats recognised Excellence in Service to Society by dedicated Public Servants in the Battaramulla area.  



This is an on-going Rotary program worldwide that recognises public servants who render an outstanding service to society without any fanfare or limelight. Last weekend, two of these public servants who had served beyond the call of duty were selected from the Thalangama Police Station and the Kaduwela Pradeesheeya Sabha and recognised appropriately.

Speaking on behalf of the Rotabats, Maj. Gen (Rtd) Susil Chandrapala said, “Rotary considers this recognition as the least they could do to express the appreciation and gratitude of civic society in recognising selfless service.”  Police Constable M.P.P. Manoj Kumara of the Thalangama Police station and P. Nimal Fonseka of the Kaduwela Pradeshiya Sabha were awarded Excellence in Service to Society awards. Sub Inspector R.B.S Suraweera participating in the ceremony commented that PC Manoj Kumara had always treated the public with respect and has been honest and efficient in discharging his duties.The Rotary club of Battaramulla is a member of Rotary district 3220 of Sri Lanka.  Over 1.2 million Rotarians belonging to over 34,000 Rotary Clubs world over serve their communities in various ways.
