Rtr. Jayatilleke installed as Assistant District Rotaract Representative, SL

The Secretary of Rotaract Club of Colombo Fort Rtr. P.P. Dilhan S. Jayatilleke was installed as Assistant District Rotaract Representative of Rotaract District 3220 (Sri Lanka) for year 2011/2012 at the Rotaract District Assembly held recently at Galle Face Hotel.

Rtr. Jayatilleke started his Rotaract career as Charter President of Rotaract Club of Battaramulla in year 2004/2005; 2005/2006 saw him again as President of the same club. He served as Vice President of the Club in 2006/2007 before joining Rotaract Club of Colombo Fort as Revival President in 2007/2008.

He served in the position of Vice President during years 2008/2009 and 2009/2010, while 2010/2011 saw him as Secretary of Rotaract Club of Colombo Fort, continuing in the same position in 2011/2012 as well. He also chaired the 21st Rotaract District Assembly where he was installed as Assistant District Rotaract Representative.

Rtr. Dilhan served the Rotaract District Committee previously in the capacity of Interact Coordinator in years 2006/2007 and 2007/2008. During his Rotaract career so far he won the ‘Award of Recognition’ twice in years 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 as President of Rotaract Club of Battaramulla.

He also received the ‘Spirit of Service Award’ and ‘Recognition Award’ as Member of Sub-Committee on Membership Development at the 21st Rotaract District Assembly for his commitment and dedication in 2010 / 2011. He was instrumental in forming 04 Rotaract Clubs during year 2010/2011: Rotaract Club of Vauniya Campus, University of Jaffna; Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayawardenapura; Rotaract Club of Galle; and Rotaract Club of Matale.

Rtr. Jayatilleke had his Primary and Secondary education at Asoka Vidyalaya – Colombo 10. He was the President of Interact Club of Asoka Vidyalaya in 2000/2001 and 2001/2002. In 2001/2002, he was awarded the ‘Best Interact Club President’ in Interact District 3220 (Sri Lanka).

At District level, he held the position of District Project Chairman – Card Sale in 2001/2002 and then served as District Interact Editor in 2002/2003. The year 2003/2004 saw him at the pinnacle of Interact as District Interact Representative of Interact District 3220 (Sri Lanka).

An ardent sportsman in school, he represented Asoka Vidyalaya and holds School Colours for wushu, rugby, athletics, soccer and cricket. He was the Head Prefect of Asoka Vidyalaya during year 2003/2004 as well.

In terms of education, he holds a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from SLIM and is also graduated in Financial Advisors’ International Qualification offered by Chartered Insurance Institute in United Kingdom.

He pursued his MBA at Vinayaka Missions University in India in the stream of marketing management and is currently reading for his PhD from Glastonbury University in United Kingdom in the field of marketing. He is the only child of B.R.A. Meththasinghe and A.M.S. Jayatilleke, who is also a Justice of Peace for All Island.
