Sampath Bank and Navy renovate Kalpitiya Bodhi Prakaraya

The Buddhist association of Sampath Bank with the collaboration of Vijaya Naval Base of Sri Lanka Navy and Sampath Bank Puttalam branch renovated the Bodhi Prakaraya at Bodhi Tree, Kalpitiya.

The Chronicle of Sinhala Bodhivansa and Sulu Bodhivansa, states that this Great Bodhi tree which is considered as one of the 32 Saplings of the Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was planted at this place, then known as Maha Jallika fishing village during the reign of King Devanampiyathisssa.

Managing Director Aravinda Perera, DGM HR Aruna Jayasekara, AGM Operations and Buddhist Association President Dinusha Ihalalanda, Credit Zone III CM Branch Manoj Akmeemana and Chilaw Regional Manager Kasun Fernando together with team members of Puttalam Branch graced the occasion.
