In keeping with their commitment towards the country’s future and establishing a solid foundation for the future leaders of the nation, Sampath Bank celebrated World Children’s Day with a series of special activities for Sampath Minor Account Holders.
Sampath Bank successfully set up a free Medical Camp at Matara Shariputhra Secondary School on 3 October, which was open to Sampath Pubudu and Sapiri Children’s Savings Account holders. With the support of a leading private hospital, the Sampath Medical Camp offered free health checkups for children while also offering free dental and eye checkups by experienced doctors.
The medical camp, well attended by enthusiastic children and parents, was further adorned with an exciting atmosphere with the availability of fun activities such as face painting, magic shows and carnival games which made the medical camp a memorable day for children.
In line with the celebration of World Children’s Day, Sampath Bank sought to recognise their entire portfolio of Children’s Savings Account holders with the introduction of ‘Ithurum Siththam’ – a savings habit competition from 4 to 30 September.
The program saw massive participation from children across the island who were required to either draw a picture or take a photograph of their innovative saving/waste reduction idea. This unique competition gave children the opportunity to develop innovative and creative ideas that resulted in saving resources.
The top 100 winners of this competition will be announced in October and will each be rewarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 along with a certificate from Sampath Bank that aptly recognises their dedication to save resources.
Sampath Bank also launched a unique reward initiative for babies born on 1 October 2015. This exclusive initiative rewards 100 lucky babies with a gold pendant and a free Sampath Children’s Savings Account with a deposit of Rs. 500. In order to win these valuable gifts, parents were simply required to send the mother’s national identity card number along with her name via SMS to 8822 upon the birth of their new born baby on 1 October. The first 100 SMSs sent will qualify to win, subject to the submission of the mother’s diagnosis card to Sampath Bank PLC, Marketing Department, No. 110, Sir James Pieris Mawatha, Colombo 02 on or before 16 October. Sampath Bank is currently in the process of finalising the winners and the 100 lucky babies will also be announced during the month of October.
