Siddhalepa in Kataragama

Siddhalepa’s Community services in the holy precincts of Kataragama were conducted this year too on a grand scale. All the flower stalls along the Kirivehera road were renovated and given a fresh coat of paint, the lamp posts were repainted and new bulbs installed, 200 waste bins were placed in the Kataragama and Kirivehera devale premises, and the name boards along the Kirivehera road were renovated. Furthermore, Lakpeyava and Iramusu drinks were served to the pilgrims and the Kirivehera temple premises were illuminated with flash lights. All the lamp posts in the Kataragama devale premises were repainted and  the five changing rooms set up by Siddhalepa for the convenience of women devotees taking a bath in the Menik Ganga were renovated. Posters on waste management, on moral teachings and on warning about dangers from crocodiles were displayed while 150 plastic buckets for use in ablutions    were handed over to the Public Health Officer. Also, the 20 cement benches constructed on either side of the road for the convenience of pilgrims were repaired.
