Sithaka Fair Tea Foundation conducts health clinic for Pothdenikanda villagers

A health clinic was organised by Sithaka Fair Tea Foundation attached to RTS Group of Companies for the benefits of the poor villagers of Pothdenikanda village situated in a remote area in Maliboda. The RTS Group has implemented several social welfare programs. A blood donation scheme, distribution of school books among employees’ children, health clinic, etc., have been organised by RTS Group of Companies for the benefit of tea small holders, villagers, and employees of RTS Group of Companies. In order to continue the social welfare programs in a better way, the Sithaka Fair Tea Foundation was established with the leadership of RTS Group of Companies Chairman/Managing Director Lalith Liyanage. Sithaka Fair Tea Foundation intends to undertake social welfare programs continuously. The first social welfare program was the health clinic conducted by the Sithaka Fair Tea Foundation on 22 June at Pothdenikanda School Premises for the benefit of villagers in the vicinity. The health clinic consisted of a dental clinic, eye clinic, and a clinic for other physical illnesses. Following consultations drugs were distributed and the total number of beneficiaries was over 550 patients. In addition a dental clinic and health educational program was also conducted for schoolchildren. Sabaragamuwa Province Director of Health Services, Ratnapura Region Director of Health Services, Director of Ratnapura General Hospital, doctors and health staff members had given their fullest cooperation to make this event a success. The beneficiaries were happy about the treatment received by them and admired the events, appreciating the contribution of the benefactors.
