ST. Mary’s Church Dehiwala celebrates 176 years

Parishioners of St. Mary’s Church Dehiwala celebrated the 176th Anniversary of their Church building on 12 February. The week long celebrations commenced with the hoisting of flag on 5 February. The evening novenas, Holy Rosary, Holy Mass and Blessing with the Statue of our Lady of Purification were conducted by the Blessed Sacrament Priests.

Service of Vespers followed by procession was held on 11 February with Rev. Fr. Ernest Poruthota, former Parish Priest as the chief celebrant. Festive High Mass (Trilingual) was conducted by Very Rev. Fr. Bonnie Fernandopulle, Episcopal Vicar for the Western Region of the Archdiocese of Colombo on 12 February.
