Tremendous response to 2nd health check camp at Peliyagoda organised by ICF

The Indian CEO Forum (ICF) successfully completed its second health check camp with the active support of Ultratech Cement and JV Gokal at Madyama Sayanaya, Peliyagoda, which was auspiciously inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and religious ceremonies in the presence of the Board members and over 300 people who attended the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, ICF President Sanjay Tiwari reiterated the commitment of ICF to regularly contribute to the wellbeing of people at large. He stressed upon the need for creating awareness on diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure related diseases. “There were many visitors at this camp who were unaware of the fact that they had high cholesterol and sugar which could be fatal,” said Tiwari. “In line with our commitment to society, we will be organising our next health camp in Trincomalee which is situated in the Eastern Province.”
On this auspicious occasion the Gataberkande Rathanasiri Thero, Chief Priest of the Jayathilakaramaya said, “I would like to thank the Indian CEO Forum, Ultra Tech Cement and J.V. Gokal for organising such an event. The people of Peliyagoda are very lucky to have these companies in their vicinity. May the Noble Triple Gem bless these companies.”
W.J.A. Sriyani, aged 57 years who visited the camp was most appreciative of this initiative and said, “This is a meritorious act. My good wishes go out to the management and all employees of these companies who organised this event.’
A.J. Hema aged 53 years said, “I have been suffering from polio since the age of two. It is a good thing to conduct such a camp for poor people like us.” Director of Police of the Peliyagoda Police Station said, “Social service is a very good thing. You have done something that others have been unable to do for a long time.”
Public Health Inspector Peliyagoda Lakmal De Silva said, “The cholesterol test is very useful for poor people as they are unable to get it done due to high costs. It is a good thing that medicine was given. I would like to thank all three organisations on behalf of the Chairman and staff of the Peliyagoda Urban Council.”
A large number of corporate heads from the ICF members actively participated in the camp.
Tiwari thanked Y.V. Lakmal De Silva of HPI of the Peliyagoda Urban Council, Dr. Illepruma, Director of Non Communicable Disease Unit of the Gampaha District, Dr. Hemantha Samarsinghe from the Peliyagoda Maternity and Child Clinic, as well as Wasantha Rajapaksha, MOH Peliyagoda, for their help to make the Camp a success. He also thanked the Metropolis Lab at Nawaloka Hospitals who along with Ultratech Cement and M\s J.V. Gokal Limited helped in the successful arrangement of the camp.
The objectives of the Indian CEO Forum are to promote and contribute to the economic growth of Sri Lanka through Indian investment, safeguard and strengthen existing economic co-operation, foster new economic ties between India and Sri Lanka, as well as provide an open forum for the business leaders of Indian origin employed with Indian multinationals and Sri Lankan business/commercial organisations in Sri Lanka. ICF also endeavors to showcase investment opportunities in Sri Lanka to potential new investors from India.
