The Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the Beetle Owners Club of Sri Lanka will be commemorating World AIDS Day (WAD) 2015, with an estimated two hour drive starting at Independence Square and routing through the main junctions of Borella, Rajagiriya, Nugegoda, Kohuwela, Kalubowila, Galle Road, Wellawatte, Bambalapitiya, Kollupitiya, Maradana, Pettah, Fort, and ending – for the grand finale events – at the Galle Face Grounds, in Colombo. 

The drive will comprise of approximately 50 Beetle cars – courtesy of the Beetle Club members – with HIV/AIDS related awareness messages. The aim of this drive is to strengthen the National HIV response by educating the public on the importance of WAD 2015 main theme: ‘Test Today’. 

The procession of cars will be the frontline to the Entertainment Education segment at Galle Face Grounds. The main goal is to spread awareness and sensitise the general public about the nature of HIV/AIDS and to this end the Beetle Owners Club of Sri Lanka will be joining the event to lend a unique touch in passing the message innovatively.
