University of Kelaniya Faculty of Medicine deploys Arpico Green Gas Unit successfully

The Medical Faculty of the University of Kelaniya based in Ragama recently set up an Arpico Green Gas Unit at the faculty premises.

Arpico Plastishells Ltd., paving the way in organic and liquid waste management, introduced the island’s first Green Gas Unit providing households, hotels, restaurants, manufacturing plants, large scale businesses and SMEs to produce bio gas through organic waste.

The Arpico Green Gas unit was installed based on the theme ‘Healthy Environment – Healthier Sri Lanka,’ an exhibition organised by the Medical Faculty Ragama under the patronage of Prof. Rajitha Wickramasinghe, Dean and Professor of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.

Furthermore the new Green Gas Unit Burner initiated the traditional milk boiling ceremony, creating a new chapter for a greener Sri Lanka.

Available in 1,000ltrs and 5,000ltrs units, it is estimated a total one to seven hours of gas could be generated and stored with minimum effort in these new Green Gas Units, producing vistas for renewable energy for all citizens in the country.

Liquid waste should be stored in order to produce the green gas and users would additionally benefit from the liquid compost, which can be used for agricultural and gardening purposes.
