The Inter-Department Vesak Lantern Competition of the Galadari Hotel was held at the Salon Tulip on 13 May. This competition which is held among the departments of the hotel is a great opportunity for teams to exhibit their creative skills and to celebrate the festival of lights commemorated by Buddhists the world over. The competition showcased some brilliant lantern designs which were admired by the staff, management and guests of the hotel. The Guests of Honour for this event were Rohana Siriwardana, Lushan Bulathsinhala and Dayaratne Ratagedera. Niranjala Basnayake kept the crowd enthralled as compere for the event. The first place was grabbed by a victorious Engineering Department while second and third places were won by the Kitchen (Carving) Department and Housekeeping Department respectively.
