Avurudu 2015 proved extra special for dozens of travellers on buses departing Colombo for Anuradhapura and Matara during this festive time of year, as a spectacular Shree FM Avurudu Promo resulted in every single person travelling on these two buses receiving what they wished for during this Sinhala and Tamil New Year. Commenting on this first-in-Sri Lanka Avurudu Promo, Shree FM Assistant Program Director Chathura Wijerathne said, “We wanted to create an immediate sense of wish fulfilment for people that, during Avurudu, make that extra effort to travel long distances to their homes and families. Not only is what we have done unheard of locally but, and more importantly, we feel we have rekindled the potential magic of Avurudu for many of our listeners.” Adding to this, EBC Radio Network Chief Operating Officer Chalaka Gajabahu said, “Not only was this innovative promo a first in Sri Lanka but it also truly captured the spirit of Avurudu for all who participated.
