The first of the series of seminars slated to be held under the Sampath Bank ‘Pahe Sishyathwa’ program – dedicated to the sons and daughters of the nation, took place successfully amidst much anticipation on Saturday, 28 May, at Middeniya Maha Vidyalaya – Middeniya. Over 1,200 students due to sit for this year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Exam participated at the inaugural seminar of the Sampath Bank Pahe Sisyathwa program. Significantly, the special workshop carried out for parents running simultaneously with the children’s seminar also saw the participation of over 700.
Covering a large number of areas around the island, Sampath Bank’s Pahe Sishyathwa is completely free of charge and is open to all students. During the seminars, selected panels of expert tutors discuss two model exam papers with the students, explaining how to best decipher various questions and how to develop effective answers, as well as tips on time management and ‘short cut’ methods questions.
Hence the program gaining tremendous admiration and success during the past few years, Sampath Bank has decided to reward this year’s best achievers, who’re also Sampath Bank accountholders and their schools with significant cash prizes amounting to lakhs.
The others in the series of seminars are due to take place on 11 June in Bandaragama, 18 June in Kekirawa, 2 July in Kandy, 16 July in Ampara, 30 July in Hatton (Tamil Medium) and 6 August in Badulla.
