CINEC Campus partners Chisholm Institute Melbourne to provide vocational education in Sri Lanka

CINEC Campus has signed a five-year transnational education partnership with the Australian based college Chisholm Institute. CINEC Campus and Chisholm Institute will initially deliver a range of courses in partnership, including Information Technology, Engineering, Electrotechnology, Electronics and Communications and Automotive. Further opportunities will be available to expand the range of courses over time, based on local industry demand.

The partnership will support the development of CINEC’s teaching staff, to ensure consistent high quality training and resources, and ensure job ready graduates with the skills required to support the local economy in Sri Lanka.

The agreement was signed virtually by Stephen Varty, Chisholm CEO, in Melbourne and and by Captain Ajith Peiris, President and founder CINEC Campus, in Malabe, Sri Lanka. Chisholm will commence the project in July 2020, by delivering the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to a number of CINEC’s teaching staff.

CINEC Campus has established transnational partnerships with a number of International Education Institutions globally, however this is the first TAFE provider they have partnered with. “CINEC’s record of enduring partnerships with a number of International Universities, provides us with exceptional confidence that this will be a partnership of mutual respect and learning,” stated Varty.

“We are excited to partner with such a highly regarded and internationally respected organisation and to celebrate our partnership with CINEC Campus. This partnership marks the beginning of Chisholm’s presence in Sri Lanka,” stated Varty.

Captain Peiris was equally enthusiastic. “We are confident this partnership will be a success reaching desired goals. We’ve worked very hard to offer our students quality courses that meet international standards. Expanding into vocational qualifications through this partnership is excellent!” he added.

The guidance and the support from The Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka in this venture is highly appreciated. This partnership was formed due to the assistance and support of Melbourne based agent Bhanuka Wanasinghe, who will continue to play a key role in delivering key outcomes. “We are looking forward to combining the skills and expertise of Chisholm and CINEC Campus to contribute positively to the Sri Lankan community and local economy. We’re eager to get the program underway,” said Wanasinghe. The agreement will form the basis for what promises to be a long lasting and fruitful relationship between the two educational institutions.
