Colombo School of Arts and Sciences (CSA) is to host an open day on 19 August where prospective students and parents could visit its premises and meet the academic staff for better insight on its provided facilities.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday as a precursor to their next intake in September. Visitors can interact with the school principal and teachers, explore the school premises and experience it before admissions, CSA Head of Admin Rahel Fernando said.
He noted that the second semester begins in September but due to the briefness of the previous semester, the new students who will obtain admission in September would be able to catch up with their missed work and reach the school’s academic goals without trouble.
CSA follows the Cambridge International Curriculum with classes from grades 6 to 12. Fernando said that the school has a 1:12 ratio where each class has a limited number of slots in order to provide individual attention for the students. The school is dedicated to provide its students guidance in academics and succeeding in life too.
While the school has a no-tuition policy, the students will receive contact details of their teachers as a leeway to get additional help from the academic staff. The no-tuition policy is to ensure that there is no change or confusion in the subject matter taught by the school teachers, Fernando explained.
Students can take classes for Foundation level education, IGCSE and O-Levels or AS and A-Levels qualifications as well. The school offers subjects in Business, Science and Technology, Language streams, humanities subjects like Global Perspectives, Psychology and Law, and Travel and Tourism. (DT)
