The official signing of the MoU between Horizon Campus Chairman Upul Daranagama and Azend Technologies Chief Executive Officer Rajive Silva in the presence of Horizon Campus CEO Ajith Wanasinghe and Vice Chancellor Prof. S.J.B.A. Jayasekera
Aiming to create a roadmap to deliver high-end career opportunities for their students, Horizon Campus recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Azend Technologies, to offer access of their platform, Careers360.lk, a data-enabled and technology-driven Educational Products and Services platform.
Azend Technologies is a collaboration of experienced ideators and technologists from a diverse set of industries including fintech, agriculture, automotive, power solutions, industrial engineering, retail, logistics and more, where the company offers the latest cloud, IoT, blockchain and machine learning technologies to organisations to scale up their businesses.
The MoU with Azend Technologies will allow Horizon to work on a variety of mutually beneficial activities that include in undertaking activities to support their student base with top-notch career opportunities through Careers360.lk and contribute to the development and industry training of their students.
The MoU was officially signed between Horizon Campus Chairman Upul Daranagama and Azend Technologies Chief Executive Officer Rajive Silva in the presence of Horizon Campus CEO Ajith Wanasinghe and Vice Chancellor Prof: S.J.B.A Jayasekera.
Daranagama said: “Strategic links with the corporate world play a crucial role in all our teaching, research and other engagement activities. All our degree programs, as well as our internships, workplace-based projects and other learning activities are developed with the direct involvement of business and industry to offer the maximum benefits to our students.
“As such, partnerships like this one are woven into the fabric of everything we do. I look forward to working closely with Azend Technologies to produce an industry-ready workforce, especially for the IT industry.”
Silva said: “A lot of our talent is looking at leaving our country for greener pastures, considering the last few years of economic challenges. However, our vision behind creating Careers360.lk was also to help show the amount of opportunity that Sri Lanka has currently when a lot of people think we don’t. We also are committed to helping bridge the gap between available talent and the talent that the industry demands by supporting our youth in increasing their employability.

Through industry partnerships as that signed with Careers360.lk, Horizon Campus will continue its goal of preparing students for successful career opportunities and educating them to develop skills that will help them contribute positively to driving the country’s industries to the next level.
