From the beginning of the current school term, Royal College hostellers will have access to the DP Education platform, thanks to Dhammika Perera and alumni Chanakya Dissanayake, Emeritus Professor Hemantha Senanayake and Dr. Malitha Wijesundara.
Royal College Hostel is a home away from home for 361 students across the island. They come from 18 districts. They are the cream of the nation having secured highest marks at the annual grade 5 scholarship exam. Only those furthest from the centre get admitted to the hostel due to limited space.
When few alumni got together to agree on the best investment for the hostellers’ future, they all instantly agreed on DP Education.
The DP Education platform, according to them, is perfect to educate hostellers for the following reasons; it covers the government syllabus fully in Science, Mathematics and English up to O/Ls, and for more subjects at A/Ls. It’s tri-lingual. Each lesson is delivered by the best in the island. It is comprehensive with question and answer sessions, past paper discussions, etc. This gives an opportunity for a child to revise lessons at a time of his choosing and at his own pace.
Mathematical lessons stand out and any student following it closely will have no problem in improving his mathematical skills in a very short time. The lessons on language are complete with listening and answering making it unique and priceless. The students will also have the option of attending live classes besides watching videos of previous lectures. For any student needing extra tutoring (beyond what’s taught at the school) there’s no better choice than the DP Education platform. And now every hosteller at RCH will have access to all the extra tutoring he ever needs, around the clock and every day.
