Celebrating a momentous milestone of over two decades of excellence in education, SLIIT kicked off its 25th anniversary celebrations, recently unveiling the new logo and announcing year-long festivities.

During the occasion, Prof. Ratnayake expressed: “Over the past 25 years, SLIIT has established itself as a leading higher education institution in Sri Lanka, consistently providing outstanding education and producing graduates highly sought after by employers both locally and internationally. As we commence our 25th anniversary celebrations, I take great pride in being part of this journey. I am confident that SLIIT will continue to reach new milestones and set higher standards in the future.”

At the event, Prof. Gamage shared the history and journey of SLIIT over the past 25 years, highlighting the institute’s significant milestones and achievements. He highlighted the institution’s key milestones and achievements, emphasising how SLIIT grew from humble beginnings to become a leading higher education provider in Sri Lanka. The event also featured the presentation of the anniversary logo, a symbol of SLIIT’s legacy and future. Originally designed by Prof. Gamage, the logo was modified for the 25th anniversary by SLIIT School of Architecture Lecturer Ranjaka Kalhara.

Prof. Gamage added: “As we celebrate 25 years of SLIIT, we look back on the journey that has brought us to be the number one nonstate higher education institution in Sri Lanka, one that’s recognised globally for our quality education, research profile and strong partnerships. Today, as we unveil our new logo, it represents our renewed commitment to being modern and innovative, showing how our faculties and community are united and moving forward together. Our alumni, who have grown into leaders and innovators, are proof of our mission to transform lives. Looking ahead, we’re excited to grow into new fields like medicine, expand our campuses, and continue giving back to society by bringing more income into Sri Lanka and retaining skilled talent within the country. With our dedicated faculty and staff always supporting our students, we’re ready to lead the next 25 years of learning, innovation, and positive change in Sri Lanka and beyond.”

Adding to this Prof. Gamage spoke about the hard work and determination that has driven SLIIT’s success, especially in overcoming challenges and adapting to changes in the higher education landscape. His message resonated with staff and students, motivating the entire community to continue striving for excellence.
