BOC’s Ran Kekulu Grade 5 Scholarship national event concluded successfully at the Maharagama Youth Centre on 16 June. This was organised by the Western Province South office of the Bank of Ceylon.
In line with this main event nine other events were organised at each province. 11 highflyers of the 2015 Grade 5 Scholarship examination who have won all island ranks were recognised along with another 2,000 students who have scored above 175 at this examination who were awarded with scholarships. A special recognition was made to 11 national achievers who reserved 1, 2 and 3 places with gold medals, certificates and special scholarship rewards.
The bank’s Chairman, President’s Counsel Ronald C. Perera, General Manager D.M. Gunasekera and one of the Board Directors Ranel Wijesinghe graced the main event at the Maharagama Youth centre. Several members of the bank’s corporate and executive management staff, BOC’s Western Province south office staff members and parents of scholarship winning students also participated at this ceremony. The TV program of this ceremony is scheduled to be telecast in Rupavahini on Saturday, 25 June at 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
