The annual quiz competition organised by the CIMA Students’ Society (CIMASS) was pulled off with resounding success on 30 April, Saturday, at the Hilton Residencies (JAIC Hilton). This was the 18th consecutive year for which the event had been organised.
Pegged down as one of the most sought-after and innovative quiz competitions in the year, Mind Challenge provided the platform for 39 teams representing CIMA Institutes, Corporates, Universities and individual teams as well. Team ACQC, an individual team comprising of veteran quiz enthusiasts emerged as the winners of this year’s competition, and are entitled to 4 return air tickets to travel to Sigiriya and back, courtesy of Cinnamon Air. Team from Copal Amba became the runners-up team and walked away with a gift voucher from Hilton.
A highlight of this year’s event was the unveiling of CIMASS’s strategic Corporate Social Responsibility program, “Education Beyond Ability”, an initiative undertaken by the Social Responsibility arm of the Students’ Society, with the aim of providing educational facilities to a selected few underprivileged children. The raffle draw segment held in the interim was made possible courtesy of Nivea Body Care Products.
Chairman of the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Sri Lanka Board Manjula De Silva, presided as the Chief Guest at the event. The judge panel comprised of John Keells Stock Brokers Assistant Manager Navin Ratnayake, Acaara Professionals Ltd Director Jehan Mendis, and KPMG (Sri Lanka ) Associate Director Piyumie Sumanasekera . Shanaka Amarasinghe presided as the Quiz Master for the event.
The Print Media Partner for Mind Challenge 2016 was Wijeya Newspapers Ltd, and the official Photography/Videography Partner was Vevra. Cinnamon Air was the Travel Partner, whereas E fm was the official Radio Partner. Fashion brand Reborn stepped in as the official Main Sponsor for Mind Challenge 2016.
