Logistics is an integral part of many of today’s organisations and international businesses. As the global economy has expanded, logistics has become increasingly important and is slated to be one of the most significant and value-driven fields today. Therefore transportation and logistics management, being at the core of global supply chain management, encompassing manufacturing, distribution and retailing, has become a highly relevant part of any successful organisation’s performance and an integral part of international businesses.
This in turn has led to careers in transport management and logistics presenting many options due to the size and scope of this sector, with career pathways including roles in planning, modelling, operational management, policy, analysis and supply chain management. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is the official body for this industry representing professionals working in logistics, distribution, warehouse, transport and the supply chain with their members being the most qualified and experienced people in the profession. CINEC Campus offers students an opportunity to be part of this exciting and diverse industry. It is the only accredited partner in Sri Lanka to deliver CILT qualifications.
